Sometimes Izzie is just a super silly puppy. She loves it when we get a new bag of food:


You see, we keep her food in an airtight container because it takes her a few months to eat through a bag and we don't want it to go stale or bad before she finishes it. Removing her from the food bad is also, always a challenge (video below):

Books 2016: A Generation Rising

This was our book club book last month. It is the first book in Lund's new series. From his introduction it appears that it will be another epic one. He plans on folowing 2 families from the late 1890s through tomabout 1980, or something like that. This first book follows one family in Germany from roughly 1890 theough to the end of WWI. It was moving alomg pretty well and I was enjoying it. In the middle it slows way down to allow for the "missionary" experience. I think that part could have been integrated into the story a litle better than it was, but omce he got past that it moved along pretty well again. Overall, the book is about 300 pages and covers a lot of time. The second book is out already and appears to be much more "Lund" like in length, but I haven't read it yet and neither has any of the ladies in my book club.

Why I March

This past week has been a busy week for our country. Last Friday marked the beginning of the Trump administration. Saturday marked a history-making worldwide event: The Women's March. Monday marked the opening of the Utah State Legislative Session and the Utah Women's March. There have been a lot of opinions about the marches: some has been positive and constructive, others have been negative and riddled with ridicule. I thought I'd take a minute to share why I marched and will continue to march. I marched, not just because Trump won but because there are issues I felt dearly about prior to the election and they just suddenly became so much more critical or immediate because I honestly don't trust that man not to back-step rights and values that I hold dear. Books 2016: Me Before You

I read this book a couple of months back. It was a fast read and not the worst story. However, it does deal with some prety heavy topics and there is a large outcry from the disabled community about the ending. A film adaptation came out recently and it has the same ending as the book, so if you are sensitive to certain issues, please educate yourself before watching it.
