Christmas Vacation

It has been awhile since I updated this here blog. In that time I spent 6 weeks in a boot and on crutches. As of today I have completed 3 physical therapy sessions and am now out of the boot altogether and am working on building strength and regaining flexibility. I am so excited to be back to normal. I'm hoping I'll get the clearance to drive after my appointment next week. These two ladies spent a lot of time helping me, especially when I was first figuring out how to do things around the house:

Sister Kreiberg (the blonde) got us matching shirts for Christmas.

They were also helping us with Family Home Evenings while C was here.

Tom finished up his semester with fantastic grades and should be finishing up his associates this coming semester. He has been accepted to USU and he is currently working on getting accepted to his program. He has various tests that he has to pass so this coming semester will be filled with lots of interesting stresses.

This is Tom in his fancy new suit jacket and bow-tie looking all snazzy (thank you!).

C moved out over this holiday vacation and won't be returning to our home. She taught us a lot about ourselves and some habits that we hope to instill in our children from an early age. We aren't sure where she will come to rest but we wish her every luck in the world. But before she left we got our family picture to commemorate the time she was here.

You can see our little tree and our stockings behind us in the above photo. That usually marks the limit of our Christmas decorations. That brings us to Christmas day. Tom and I woke up and just relaxed. Since Tom tried to feed Izzie two breakfasts, she got to open her sock first. On Christmas Eve she got Chewie (as in Chewbacca) socks and Christmas morning she got a leash holder (also Chewie themed), a plush bone (Darth Vader themed), a new slightly-oversized tennis ball, a teeth chew (dino shaped), and a giant sausage-type thing.

I got a new alarm clock (Lego, Bobba Fett), my new Christmas PJs, a coloring book, a small wall calendar for my office, and some Christmas candy. Tom also made me his annual piece of art, I always love seeing what he comes up with.

Tom got new glasses for the house (we had been using various source jars for a few years now), a new wall calendar, his Teachings of the Prophets: Harold B. Lee book from the church, and his Christmas candy.

We spent the rest of the morning making some pies and relaxing. We were planning on spending Christmas dinner with Steve and Jean and their guests. We were really excited to head over because it is always fun to do stuff with family. Jean and Steve also gave us a cookbook for dogs...it came with cookie-cutters and all.

After dinner we played a round of Munchkins and then went to see the lights over at Temple Square. It was a really fantastic day and we had so much fun with family and friends.

  1. It's great to keep up with y'all here! Glad to hear good news, too. Maybe I should write like this sometimes.
