SLCC 15 Day 1

'Tis the time of year again for Salt Lake Comic Con. This year Tom took a few days off of work so he could come with me all three days. Day 1 is always a short day, it starts about 2:00 in the afternoon. We managed to get there about 3:30. We spent most of Thursday checking out the floor, admiring all the local artists, and getting the layout of the land. We also decided this year that we were going to cosplay. Thursday we went as Kaylee Frye and Simon Tam from Firefly/Serenity.

This is the best of the 2 of us in costume.

We did hit up one panel that day, it was about the Myth and Legend of Buffy. It was a really fun panel, and even Tom, who doesn't know Buffy very well, really enjoyed it. We also went to the Phelps brother's panel (they played Fred and George Weasley in the HP movies). They were pretty funny and we enjoyed their panel.

One of them was always moving, so this is the best shot I managed to capture.

Of course, one of the fun things about these weekends is seeing other people's costumes and getting to converse and share with each other. As usual there were a ton of amazing ones, but we only captured a couple on Thursday.

A pretty sweet Captain America.

The Jayne's from the Firefly meet-up.

We were, unfortunately, late to the meet-up so missed most of the other groupings and didn't end up in any of the photos. But it was still fun to see everyone else's interpretation of the characters. We did start purchasing some pretty sweet art, sample's to come, while were there Thursday night.
