Books 2014: Birds of a Feather (Maisie Dobbs #2)

Birds of a Feather is book 2 in the Maisie Dobbs series. I read Maisie Dobbs for book club a few months ago and decided to try a few more in the series.

This book starts about a year or so after the end of the last book and it finds Miss Dobbs in a new office and well established in her business. She is hired by a father to search for his missing daughter and in the process she uncovers that the missing woman is connected with three other unsolved murders. As with the first book, there are returns and ties back to the Great War.

This book has a similar rhythm and tone as the first book which is not surprising since it is about the same characters doing similar things. I did like the increased time spent on the character of Maisie herself. This may only be a reflection of having more time to write about her instead of having to establish all the characters themselves. This was a fun and easy read and I'll probably read the third one as well.
