The Holidays
This holiday season has been a little busy. My Christmas week started with my cousin, Becky's, wedding on Monday morning. I went down the clerk's office and waited in line with her and her now wife Jen while they waited for their marriage license.
This was a really important day for them as a family and I'm glad that I was able to attend. Them and their kids were so excited.
On Christmas Eve we went up to Rebecca and Troy's house for a family party. There was a lot of delicious food and much fun to be had. It was a pretty casual event with a grab and go food situation and a mix and mingle while you eat. It was pretty good to see everyone in one place for a few hours.
Tom and I went home and opened our traditional Christmas Eve PJ presents. I always love this present because it is a great excuse to find something comfy and fun.
In our home, our critters get a little Christmas too. Their presents usually consist of new chew toys, some treats, or other things that we've been wanting to try (such as waterless shampoo for the ferrets). This year Shadow got a new Kong bone, Izzie got a new tug-of-war rope, both pups got little sausage treats, and the ferrets got the waterless shampoo. We've tried giving the ferrets treats before, but they don't eat them, so their presents are totally for us.
Tom got some socks, a few PS3 games, a calendar, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and a slew of Journey CDs. Tom was pretty excited about the games since he has a few weeks off of school to play them right now. In fact, he is taking a week off of work here in a few weeks and I'm sure there will be plenty of playing done.
Tom and I decided to get a Bosch mixer this year and it was "my" present because I do a little more cooking than he does. In addition I got a couple of movies, Star Trek: The Original Series, a day planner, and The Monuments Men (book).
We are looking forward to another year. Tom has completed another semester successfully and will be taking his first "degree" math class this coming semester. We are both pretty excited about the progress he is making. We don't have a lot of plans for the coming year other than to work on the house, Tom's school, and enjoying our lives. We hope you all have a good New Year and that you have the opportunities that you are looking for.
This is us hanging in line.

You can see the finished video at the link below. For some reason this won't "find" the video when I look for it as an insert. Go figure.

Love Tom's photo timing? Great face, eh?
