New Things

So, we have had a busy few weeks. We have received some new furniture from Rebecca and Troy and have rearranged the living room to accommodate said furniture. It is great. We have created "two separate" rooms with the furniture and it feels a lot more comfortable now. At least to me.

Monday we got a new pet. A little female ferret named Bandit. She is just now starting to settle in and the dogs are learning to accept her presence in the house. She is a lot of fun and super cute. However, she has a wicked strong jaw and we are all learning how hard is too hard. Ferrets "nip" all the time, so hopefully she will learn what is too much and what is just playful and fun. All things considered though, we are glad that she is here.

Saturday we got a new water heater. Our old one was installed in 1992 and was on its last leg. It was beginning to make both us uncomfortable to have it in the house because it just seemed like it was going to blow up at any moment. Anyways, we have had a new tankless water heater installed yesterday. It was an all day install, but it is nice to have a new unit that takes up 1/3 of the space in our utility closet. So far, we have not been disappointed with the performance. I know that there can be issues with them once the ground water gets cold, but the thing is pretty beasty and totally rated for cold weather, so we aren't worried about it.

Finally, today we were able to attend the dedication for the new Brigham City Temple (via satellite). Temple dedications are always special and a truly a blessing to attend. It was the first one that Tom had ever attended and he really enjoyed the special spirit that accompanies dedications. However, our chapel was SO cold that Tom was driven to distraction during some of it. Which he was annoyed by. I can't believe how cold it was in there, it was ridiculas. But all in all, a pretty good week.
